Wall piece made of 95% hand cast abaca paper. When it has dried and is gessoed, I apply a joint compound mixture, which when dried quickly, will create a beautifully cracked surface. Then I cover the surface with encaustic wax ( bees wax and dry pigment ). This darkens the cracks and makes a smooth blended surface. Each piece is unique and will vary slightly. They may be hung horizontally or vertically.

Earth & Fire Sage – Large – Triptych – 32” x 50” x 2”

These pieces are made of 85 percent abaca fiber handmade paper. The surface is then troweled with joint compound in the top half creating mostly a texture and in the bottom half a more cracked surface. While the joint compound is still wet, pieces of red copper are embedded into the joint compound; and the bottom half is painted with sage,rust and golden colors. Over the painted surface a layer of encaustic wax is brushed to creating a deep rich semi-translucent look. Each piece is unique one of a kind and will vary slightly.

These handcast paper wall pieces are made of 85% Abaca paper. Forms are placed in the piece when they are cast to create openings for layers of patinaed and heated metal. Each piece is gessoed and then covered with joint compound to create a textured surface, they are all copper leafed and are painted with acrylic paint. These pieces are contemporary abstract designs and they do not need to be framed. Each piece is unique and will vary slightly. They may be hung horizontally or vertically.

Fire Sticks – Torn Metal Copper These pieces are made of a wood base with copper leaf edges on each end. The artist attaches brilliantly colored pieces of copper with a torn edges to the wood base.
